The Spiritual Aspect
Maxine was driving down the street in a sweat because she had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place.  Looking up toward heaven, she said, 'Lord, take pity on me.  If you find me a parking place I will go to church every Sunday for the rest of my life and give up sex and tequila.'

Miraculously, a parking place appeared.  She looked up again and said, 'Never mind.  I found one.'

How does it all fit in to "HEALING"???  It's important for you to find out what spirituality means to you, and to learn how to embrace it in a way that is right for you.  It's hard to explain the 'healing' you can experience when you nurture your connection to something that is greater than you, whether that be your God, Mother Earth, Creater, Nature, Universe, etc.  Our pain, stress and brokenness, as alluded to before, comes from fear:  fear of death, fear of abandonement, fear that we are not lovable, or not accepted in some way.   Developing and working at Faith is probably the single most worthwile thing we can do - whether that be faith in the unconditional love of God, faith in the cycle of seasons and the rebirth of every spring, or faith in the unfathomable workings of an infinite universe.  When you are able to take the concerns you carry, and give them up to a force, or source, greater than you, it opens the way for you to perceive your world and situations in ways you would not have previously dreamed.
The scenario at right with famous cartoon character "Maxine" illustrates a good point.  It is important to have awareness of (and properly acknowledge!) the "help" we get in life:  every bit of good luck, every little coincidence, and every single opportunity that opens up.  The more we can recognize and show gratitude for things that come our way, the more connected we will feel - and the more "serendipitous" our lives will become!
'The "I" of you is not the physical body; that is simply an instrument which the "I" uses to carry out its purposes; the "I" cannot be the Mind, for the mind is simply another instrument which the "I" uses to think, reason, and plan.  The "I" must be something which controls and directs both the body and the mind; something which determines what they shall do and how they shall act. When you come into a realization of the true nature of this "I", you will enjoy a sense of power which you have never before known.'

Ego says: I am what I think I am.

Soul says: I am more than I can imagine.

Spirit says: I am

The word 'spiritual' generally holds strong connotations for people.  This is probably the area of most people's lives that is most greatly lacking, yet also the one thing that can have the greatest impact on overall well-being, health, and happiness.

Spirituality doesn't necessarily have to be about religion.  Simply, every living being, by virtue of being "alive," is inherently spiritual.  In this case, I am referring to a definition of spiritual as:  "concerned with that part of us that is not of physical or material form."   You can be aware that you are thinking certain thoughts right now, you can be aware of the thoughts themselves, and you can also be aware of the "thinker"...
